About Anna De La Torre

Anna De La Torre received her a Bachelors of Science in nursing from USF in May 2008 and has a Masters of Science in Anesthesia from Barry University in May 2011. She has been a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist for 8 years. At New Tampa Interventional Pain & Sports Medicine Anna will be leading the new Ketamine Infusion Clinic. Ketamine is the non-competitive NMDA antagonist and has been shown to have a rapid therapeutic effect in unipolar depression, treatment-resistant depression, and bipolar depression. Intravenous (IV), of sub-anesthetic doses of ketamine results in rapid, robust and relatively sustained antidepressant effects including the rapid resolution of suicide ideation.

Anna’s favorite part of her career is “making patients comfortable and keeping them safe during their most vulnerable moments in life. I enjoy seeing them pain free during a very pain inducing period. I also enjoy working with my husband, since we have the same goals with regards to the care of patients. We both have independent and significant roles when caring for our patients. Ketamine infusion is near and dear to my heart because it is another avenue of care to a sometimes impossible task of pain free, depression free living.”

Anna has a large family with 5 children who keep us extremely busy. We spend most of our weekends watching sports activities that the kids participate in. I also enjoy date nights with my husband, running, and spa days. We are blessed with our extended family close by so we are always busy with family gatherings.
